By this point I was as close as I could get to the middle of the span.
Question: Why the
third crane and not the first or second? The answer I came up with
is:
Would you
want to be atop the leading crane when you realized it was going to collide
with the bridge?
The tugboat behind
the ship must have been ready to tug very hard in an emergency.
Another question: Why not the last crane?
