See the Incredible Shrinking Coit Tower View! |
The tower was built as a tribute
to Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who was a great admirer of
San Francisco's firefigthters.
There has been talk regarding the tower's resemblence to a firehose nozzle,
but it is probably nothing
more than talk.
Speaking of Hitchcock, a famous scene
in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo took place at Fort
Point...
Mel Brooks' hilarious High Anxiety
also made good use of that location.
